We work hard to ensure the quality and origin/authenticity of everything we sell. There's nothing more important to us than customer satisfaction. We purchase seeds only from highly respected seed breeders and their official distributors, keep seeds in their original packaging (and quantity per package), and provide descriptions directly from each seed's breeder, whenever possible.
All of our products are intended and sold for legal and safe use only, of course. Some seeds, or the plants they can produce, may be toxic, and some may be illegal in various circumstances or areas of the world. Our intention is to provide a reliable, informative and compassionate source of medicinal plant seeds for people who are authorized medical patients / growers / researchers / dealers in accordance with Canadian, and international, law. Any purchase involves a certification by our customer that they have legal authorization to possess what they are buying, as well as an agreement that our customer will not act in conflict with any law. While we aim to provide as much information as possible, it is the responsibility of every customer to avoid any unsafe or improper use.
I have had great success germinating seeds with this recipe.
Keep in mind there are many ways to achieve good results in seed germination.
However this method has never failed me and has given me superb results over the years-
a huge percentage of seeds sprouting- and also a high female ratio.
Step 1:
Take 2 dessert plates (one slightly smaller then the other) to use as a germination dish.
Use the larger one as the bottom.
Fold Paper towel 5-6 times into a 5X5 square( or so it fits inside the dish with very little overhang).
Place on the bottom dish.
Step 2:
Now in a container mix tap water.
PH up or down to 6.2.
Hydgrogen Peroxide 35% food grade at 1 drop per liter (3% add 30 ml per 4 liters).
Superthrive 10-15 drops per 4 liters.
Kelp additive 5ml or less per liter.
Step 3:
Soak the plate and paper towel with the water mixture from step 2.
Let soak for a few minutes and then drain off excess.
Split the paper towel in the middle and add your seeds
Make sure they don't touch each other ( to prevent bacteria, mould or fungus).
You can add 50 seeds or so.
Cover with the top half of the paper towel.
Pour on more water mixture again.
Cover with smaller plate to keep dark.
Hold plates together and drain off excess water.
Set aside at room temperature.
Step 4:
Check every day or two for signs of sprouting.
Don't let the paper towel get dry.
Add more water mixture when needed.
Always drain off excess water.
If seeds are fresh you should see signs of sprouting in a few days.
Adding heat will improve your germination rate but also increase the chances of contamination by mould etc- so I wouldn't do it.
Step 5:
Once you see good activity of sprouting, prepare a pot for germination:
Add some good soil like promix, etc.
Sift or remove by hand any sticks and large clumps, etc.
Add the water mixture as above in Step 2.
Use tweezers to pick up the seeds.
Use a pen or what have you to poke a hole in the soil.
Add the sprouting seed with the sprouting end facing up (not down).
As the sprout grows out from the seed the root will reverse course and
spiral downwards while lifting the plant leaves up through the soil
rubbing off the seed husk usually.
You can remove the seed husk by hand- but be very gentle and use tweezers to do so.
Step 6:
Top all the seed holes and upper pot area with loose sifted dry soil 1/4 of an inch or so - enough to provide a good cover. Do not pack down.
Take a spray bottle of the water mixture from step 2 and gently wet down soil.
Be careful not to disturb the seeds (fine mist).
Place under some florescent lights for 18/6 (lights on 18hrs per day).
Keep soil moist but not soaking wet.
And in a few days you should see more baby plants than you can shake a stick at.
Then use a spoon to remove them after they get 3-4 inches high and
transplant them for growth into adult hood.
Good Luck and a Happy harvest!

herbman
